COVO NEEDS WINTER DONATIONS FOR HOMELESS VETERANS & OTHERS: Blankets, tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, heavy (wool) socks, boots, propane, long johns, coats, sweaters, hygiene supplies, infant & baby supplies, tarps, stoves, lights, and (new) batteries. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY – CARING FOR TROOPS has been gathering items and shipping care packages to deployed troops from Central Oregon. Caring For Troops (CFT) is Central Oregon's support organization for locally connected men and women serving overseas in the United States military. CFT is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization. Donations can be dropped off in the designated bins at the entrance of the Senior Center in Madras, 860 SW Madison Street, Madras, OR 97741. Thank you for supporting our nation’s heroes!

CHRISTMAS FOOD BASKETS – Jefferson County Veterans Service Office (VSO) is assembling food baskets for surviving spouse of any Veteran that is in need of a food basket for Christmas: contact Madras VSO SOON at 541-475-5228. Leave a message or email VSO with the following: recipient's name, phone number, Last 4 of SS#, and how many people they have in their family. VSO will contact to arrange a pick up date and/or delivery.
